Pleasantly surprised

Had a few niggles building the bike the paint will scratch easily so be sure to use the wrapping when turning the bike up and down. Also the rear wheel nut you have to remove to put on the gear protector on was very tight and I could not remove it with the spanner supplied. Had to ask a neighbour to help with a ratchet socket spanner.

The bike however is very sturdy and easy to ride. I am 62 with breathing difficulties but was able to climb steep hills with little or no effort on my first trip.

I would have no hesitation recommending this to anyone looking for an E-Bike.

I also own an engwe ep-2 pro model that I am extremely satisfied with, but this model far exceeds my expectations, a very powerful engine and a large, comfortable long-distance range, I can say that's the right thing.

Additional leisure eBike

I bought an Engwe L20 3.0 Pro because of the long range and because it's foldable. I already have a full-sized eBike, but it doesn't fit in the car and is far too heavy for a 65-year-old to get onto a roof rack. Having exhausted all local leisure rides, I want to discover more rides by car or train.
I took it out for the first time yesterday in Hampshire, UK, having given up on waiting for a nice sunny day to try it out. Impressed by how it handled the hills and its comfort, the dual suspension makes a difference. I did about 16 miles, and the battery was down to 70%, so a 50-60 mile range looks possible, maybe more if I don't throw it at a particularly hilly route, like yesterday.
Some minor things...
I need to adjust the saddle, as I think it’s too far forward and feels like I’m slipping forward off it.
The roads were still wet from all the recent rain, and the rear mudguard doesn't seem quite long enough to stop the spray going over my rack bag and up my back.
This bike is really responsive and a joy to ride up to the 15mph assisted limit; after that, it's a real slog to get any further speed out of it, particularly as it runs out of gears. Not a problem for the leisure use I plan for it.
Assembling was fine, though there was no allen key to adjust the position of the display so I could lock down the handlebars and then move the display back. The position of the front wheel hub spacers was not that clear from the diagram.
It was delivered within 1 week of ordering. My only disappointment is that some of the accessories I would like are out of stock for 3 months.

Best economical middrive folding small ebike

1. Strong low-speed acceleration and hill climbing

The 100Nm torque is genuinely powerful. It’s strong rather than fast, and the climbing ability is excellent. The torque is so strong that it can comfortably handle very deep slopes, which is quite impressive.

2. Rare configuration
A folding e-bike with a mid-drive motor and triple suspension is very rare in the small-bike market. This combination is hard to find elsewhere at this price point.

3. Customer support
Customer service response during UK late-night hours (which align with Shenzhen daytime office hours) was fast and efficient. I also appreciate their willingness to replace my kickstand when needed.

4. Very bright front light
The front bike light is impressively bright and easily illuminates rural paths with no street lighting, which makes night riding much safer.

Overall
Considering the price, this e-bike offers excellent value and a very unique setup. A solid choice if you want strong climbing performance in a compact, folding mid-drive e-bike.

I HAVE NO REGRETS

I upgraded from my first e-Bike from another manufacturer who failed my expectations on every level. When I received my first e-Bike from that competitor my problems began. The odometer was not displaying the kilometers traveled but the Miles and there was no way to change that thru any type of settings. The phone holder was made of cheap plastic and broke after three months. The disk brakes were also of a very low quality and they constantly even after changing the brake pads at a local repair shop. To summarize before talking about my precious L20 3.0 Pro I’ll simply say that the e-Bike was a disaster. But the worst part is that I was unaware of regulations concerning e-Bikes in Spain and in all of Europe for that matter. That e-Bike did not meet EPAC European regulations as described in the Norm EN 15194. One of the most importante features required to meet that norm is that the e-Bike must not have a throttle, button, trigger or any type of device that would allow the user to accelerate exclusively using that throttle and that user could then ride freely without having to peddle. Furthermore when using that throttle I was able to reach speeds of up to 38Km/h, something that the norm EN15194 prohibits unless you achieve that speed using pedal assistance and once your reach the maximum permitted by law which is 25km/h you can surpass that speed by pedaling on your own.

I was arrested by the Valencia police, fined 500€ and had the bike confiscated for three weeks while they were running tests on it. The police officer added that if I would not have had a normal car driving permit the fine would have been great but they would have arrested me for driving a motor vehicle without a drivers permit. Given the bike had a throttle it was no longer considered as a bicycle but as a motorcycle.

So now let me tell you how happy I am with my NEW shiny L20 3.0 PRO

There are no rattles, no squealing of breaks or anything else. Not only was I impressed with the quality of the materials and the sophisticated engineering and design but when riding it you can feel the quality and sturdiness of the whole machine. It’s just an awesome product. The quality of the battery and the charger is from another world if I compare it to the flimsy cheap plastic charger from my first e-Bike. Assembling the L20 3.0 PRO when I received it was easy and very well illustrated in the manual and video.

After a few days of road testing on different distances using Modes 2, 3 and 5 for the duration of the ride in order to see how it affects the distances covered by using different Modes I am pleased to see that I will be able to travel significantly longer distances than with my previous e-Bike without having to worry about having to pack the Battery charger in a packsack.

I definitely recommend this bike to anyone looking for quality design and innovation.
